CWA Peats Ridge & Districts

We are a group of women who enjoy making a positive difference, while building lasting friendships and supporting our local community.

At the CWA Peats Ridge & District, we’re more than just a community organisation. We love bringing people together through fundraising, community events, skill sharing and plenty of laughter. Whether we’re serving Devonshire teas, hosting workshops, supporting local schools or simply enjoying a chat over a cuppa. There is always something happening.

Community is at the heart of everything we do, and throughout the year we proudly organise and support a range of activities, including:

  • Our popular Hit and Giggle social picnic

  • The Harvest Festival Tearooms at Kulnura Memorial Hall.

  • Educational events featuring guest speakers on topics of interest to our community.

  • Working alongside the Country Fair Committee to help deliver local events.

  • Presenting Citizenship Awards at two local primary schools.

  • Participating in before and after school care holiday programs.

  • Operating our much-loved Tearoom at the Mangrove Mountain Artisan Market every second month (our major fundraising activity)

  • Preparing dignity bags for Coast Shelter.

  • Supporting We Care Connect

Every event is an opportunity to strengthen community connections, raise funds for worthwhile causes and celebrate the unique spirit of our region.

The CWA has always been about learning from one another, and our branch proudly continues that tradition.

Learning and sharing knowledge

Our members enjoy sharing their knowledge of cooking, preserving, baking, handicrafts and creative skills, particularly with women who may not have had the opportunity to learn them before. Our annual Christmas Craft and Cooking Workshop has become a much-anticipated community event. On top of this we regularly have friendship outings, the movies or the theatre, or just having afternoon tea.

Peats Ridge and Districts branch is made up of women from all walks of life – university students, young mothers, professionals, retirees and everyone in between. What we share is a genuine sense of friendship, kindness and community spirit.

Our Ladies are known for their enthusiasm, creativity, generosity and willingness to help others. We value good conversation as much as good cooking and there’s always time for a friendly chat over a cup of tea.

Whether you’re looking to meet new people or contribute to your community, learn new skills or simply enjoy good company, you’ll find a warm welcome at Peats Ridge & District.

Situated in the beautiful hinterland of the NSW Central Coast, the Peats Ridge region has a proud agricultural heritage. Renowned for its citrus orchards and poultry farming, while the landscape continues to evolve, the strong connection to the land and community remains at the heart of local life—and at the heart of our branch.

Have you been thinking about joining the Country Women’s Association of NSW?

The Peats Ridge Branch are not just about making delicious scones and fabulous beanies!! With a very diverse range of activities for you to be involved in, we offer something for everyone. The annual study of International, Agriculture and Environment topics will enlighten you and offer an opportunity to share your own knowledge with our ladies. If you are keen to meet with like-minded members on cultural subjects like photography, story writing, painting and arts and crafts, we have it all for you. Our cookery, handicrafts and recycling items have become the staple of our fundraising efforts.
Competitions within CWA are carried out annually to enable you the opportunity to compete and learn, at both Branch and State levels.
Perhaps you are a fabulous organiser with skills to take on an office bearer role and represent the branch as a Delegate to attend conferences and to vote for motions to be presented to parliament to better the community.
And last but not least, to have fun and make lifelong friends.
