CWA UMINA BEACH

At Umina Beach, we warmly welcome new members. Our branch has over 50 members and is continuing to grow because we focus on friendship, laughter, and community. We welcome women of all ages, and there are no expectations — come along as often or as little as you like.

Every Wednesday morning, we meet for friendship and conversation, but there is so much more to enjoy. Potential members think you need to be a cook or handicraft enthusiast to join, but this isn’t true. We have many members who come simply for company and to create new friendships.

Our branch offers plenty of opportunities to connect and get involved. There’s a book club on the first Monday of each month. If you enjoy knitting, sewing, or other crafts, a group meets every Tuesday morning to work on personal projects as well as projects to support the community. We also offer an exercise class late Tuesday morning focused on balance and core strength.

We’re lucky to have our own hall, right in the centre of Umina Beach, where all these activities take place. If you love cooking, don’t miss the cooking demonstrations on the last Saturday morning of each month.

Umina Beach is a family-friendly suburb and stunning beach on the Central Coast of NSW, known for its long sandy shoreline, calm waters, and vibrant local community. Umina Beach is popular for swimming, surfing, and family outings. The beach is patrolled by lifeguards and Surf Life Saving volunteers, particularly during school holidays and public holidays.

As you can see, Umina Beach Country Women’s Association provides many ways to connect and network. Best of all, we welcome new ideas—that’s why we keep growing and having the best of times. Come along and see if you might find your place with us!

Perhaps you may be thinking of joining the CWA.

There are a diverse range of activities for you to be involved in, offering something for everyone:

There is an annual study of International, Agriculture and Environmental topics which will offer an opportunity to share your knowledge (and research with our ladies).
You may be keen to meet with like-minded members on cultural subjects, such as photography, story writing, painting, and arts and crafts.
Our cookery, handicrafts and recycling items have become the staple of our fundraising efforts.

Competitions are also held within the CWA, and are carried out annually to enable you the opportunity to compete and learn, at both Branch and State levels. A number of these competitions are also open to non-members, an opportunity for you family and non-family to join in as well.

Perhaps you are a fabulous organiser, or maybe you have retired yet still feel you have much more to give, with skills to take on an office bearer role and represent our branch as a Delegate, to attend conferences, and to vote for motions to be presented to parliament, so we can better the community.

And last but not least, to have fun and make lifelong friends.

So come along and say Hi. We have the jug on ready for you.
