Mannering Park Branch

Mannering Park CWA, we welcome new members, new friendships and we welcome you.

The ladies at Mannering Park CWA have a strong community connection with local residents, businesses and our environment. We actively nurture our community connections. We support local businesses such as the IGA Supermarket which in turn provide for and support our community. Our Branch is unique, meeting every Monday (except Public Holidays). Here you are welcome to join us in Craft or cookery, or learn something new like baking scones, knitting and crochet, or perhaps learn basic sewing skills – like how to take up a hem, fix a seam or take in something that is now too big. We can help you.

We enjoy Knitting, Crochet and Handiwork, chatting over a cuppa while making items for charity. Examples are our Trauma Teddies and hats for premature babies. This gives our members a huge sense of satisfaction. What we produce is donated to various charitable organisations.

We also as a Branch knit beanies, fingerless gloves and blankets for the Housing and Support Connect Day, held yearly and supporting the homeless of the Central Coast. Our fundraising efforts, donations from local business, the community and our own members allow us to purchase items to go into Toiletry bags, basic items for personal care that can help restore dignity to those who live rough on the streets.

We enjoy our cookery, making jams, preserves and relishes. Our ladies also bake scones and sell cakes and slices at our Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas Stalls. The funds from these activities enable us to further give back to the community.

Located at the southern shores of Lake Macquarie, Mannering Park is a peaceful and idyllic town, with an amateur thriving Amateur Sailing Club and a Sea Scout Group. We also have a very long lakefront reserve with plenty of water to explore. Our local traffic even stops for families of ducks that cross the roads.

We are located at 16 Warwick Ave Mannering Park.

We meet every Monday morning at 9.30am-12noon for Craft and a cuppa. Every fourth Monday is our meeting day. New members always welcome.

Regular Meetups

every Monday, 9.30am for Friendship Day, and every 4th Monday is our Meeting Day.

Perhaps you may be thinking of joining the CWA.

There are a diverse range of activities for you to be involved in, offering something for everyone:

  • There is an annual study of International, Agriculture and Environmental topics which offer an opportunity to share your knowledge (and research with our ladies).

  • You may be keen to meet with like-minded members on cultural subjects, such as photography, story writing, painting, and arts and crafts.

  • Our cookery, handicrafts and recycling items have become the staple of our fundraising efforts.

Competitions are also held within the CWA and are carried out annually to enable you the opportunity to compete and learn, at both Branch and State levels. A number of these competitions are also open to non-members, an ideal opportunity for you family and non-family to join in as well.

Perhaps you are a fabulous organiser. Maybe you have retired yet still feel you have much more to give? Do you have skills to take on an office bearer role and represent our branch as a Delegate, to attend conferences, and to vote for motions to be presented to parliament, so we can better the community.

And last but not least, to have fun and make lifelong friends.

So come along, have a cuppa and a chat and join us at Mannering Park, we look forward to meeting you.
