We support local women – Mangrove Mountain Evening Branch
We support local women and encourage intergenerational knowledge sharing. This ensures that both traditional and modern skills continue to be valued and shared. Our members consider themselves particularly strong at building community connections and creating welcoming spaces for women of all ages. Community is at the heart of everything we do.
At Mangrove Mountain Evening Branch, we place a strong importance on supporting local initiatives and community-based activities. We achieve this by attending local markets and community events. We connect with residents and share information about CWA Initiatives.
We focus on knowledge sharing, through skills nights, guest speakers, or teaching each other practical and creative skills. Handicrafts and traditional skills are also an important part of our branch culture. This helps preserve and pass on these skills within our community.
Our Branch is also supported by a strong and dedicated president. We have a very supportive group of members who work and contribute their time and skills generously. There is also a strong sense of community and inclusion within the branch.
Our very talented bakers and craft makers love to share their knowledge, recipes and skills with each other. These activities provide an abundance of wonderful home-made items for sale at numerous community stalls and functions. These showcase the wonderful range of sustainable resources available in the Mangrove Mountain region.
So, whatever your interest, we will have something for you.
Located on the far western side of the Northumberland Group, we enjoy the best of life in rich rural farmland with easy access to both Sydney and Gosford.
Branch Members meet at the Mangrove Mountain Union Church Hall, 2154 Wisemans Ferry Road, on the second Tuesday of the month at 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
A second get together is held on the 4th Tuesday of each month also at 4pm. This is for handicraft, cooking lessons and general camaraderie.
Our CWA enables working mums, and those running family businesses a chance to socialize and meet with other ladies, whilst still be able to contribute to the local community.
