Mannering Park Branch

Welcome to the CWA Mannering Park Branch

Located at the southern shores of Lake Macquarie, Mannering Park is a peaceful and idyllic town on the Central Coast. Why we even stop traffic to allow the families of ducks to cross the roads. We have an amateur thriving Amateur Sailing Club, a Sea Scout Group and a very long lakefront reserve with plenty of water to explore.

In a smaller town there is a need for strong community collaboration between the local residents, businesses and our environment. Our members nurture this while ensuring they have lots of fun and friendships in the process. Our Branch is unique, because we meet every Monday (except Public Holidays) providing many more opportunities to do what we love most. Knitting, Crochet and Handiwork, chatting over a cuppa and making things, give us a huge sense of satisfaction knowing what we produce is donated to various organisations and also supporting hospitals in the local area.

Here at Mannering Park CWA, you can be assured you will find friendships and new skills, and greater understanding of our core objectives.

Our branch hall is located at 16 Warwick Ave Mannering Park and members meet every Monday morning at 9.30am. Every fourth Monday is a formal meeting, and on the others, we hold “Friendship Mornings”, where we have craft and art activities and/or classes. Or sometimes we will just sit and chat and socialise over a cuppa.

Our regular “friendship Mornings” are held at 16 Warwick Street, Mannering Park every Monday at 9.30am with every 4th Monday being our monthly meeting.

Perhaps you may be thinking of joining the CWA.

There are a diverse range of activities for you to be involved in, offering something for everyone:

  • There is an annual study of International, Agriculture and Environmental topics which offer an opportunity to share your knowledge (and research with our ladies).
  • You may be keen to meet with like-minded members on cultural subjects, such as photography, story writing, painting, and arts and crafts.
  • Our cookery, handicrafts and recycling items have become the staple of our fundraising efforts.

Competitions are also held within the CWA and are carried out annually to enable you the opportunity to compete and learn, at both Branch and State levels. A number of these competitions are also open to non-members, an ideal opportunity for you family and non-family to join in as well.

Perhaps you are a fabulous organiser. Maybe you have retired yet still feel you have much more to give? Do you have skills to take on an office bearer role and represent our branch as a Delegate, to attend conferences, and to vote for motions to be presented to parliament, so we can better the community.

And last but not least, to have fun and make lifelong friends.

So come along, have a cuppa and a chat and join us at Mannering Park, we look forward to meeting you.
