Welcome to The Lisarow / Ourimbah Branch
We are an active community of women who embrace all that CWA stands for. We are diverse in our activities both in our local community, state and e-wide and overseas, with one truly dedicated member who is on the International Board of Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) regularly traveling to London meetings.
We have an interest in the CWA’s advocacy work and support where we can. Our community work supports “We Care Connect”, a local charity caring for children who live under the poverty line.
At the Lisarow Ourimbah branch, we understand that being part of a community involves contributing to the residents and services available to the region. With this in mind, our support is given to a wide range of extremely worthwhile causes and charities. These include
- Educational Scholarships,
- Drought and Disaster Relief funds,
- Assisting our country sister branches,
- Medical Research,
- Local Hospitals,
- Breast Cancer Support,
- Local Girl Guides, and
- Rural Fire Services, to name a few.
We are renowned for our great home cooks and our wonderful handicrafts. We are young or not so young, employed in the workforce or in the home, and come from a wide range of backgrounds, we are every woman, just like you.
We would consider our strengths to be “supporting each other, and inclusion”, which align with the CWA Mission being: –
“Women supporting women kindness to create positive change”.
We also consider ourselves good at problem solving, compassion, discussion and involvement.
All of this is done with a huge amount of fun and friendship with the knowledge that we are making a difference within our region. Our members are the driving force behind the Northumberland Groups’ involvement in the Central Coast Regional Show each year. From serving our famous Devonshire teas and toasties to bringing together the best home bakers the Central Coast has to offer in the Competition Bake Off, this is annual event that is high on our fundraising and community awareness calendar.
So why not give us a call, we are waiting to hear from you? No matter what your interests and talents are, we will have a fit for you to align with.
Our meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at the Christadelphian Bible Learning Centre, 26 Pacific Highway, Ourimbah (next door to the RSL Bowling Greens), starting at 9.30am, and usually followed by an informal light lunch and an opportunity to share ideas and recipes, or just to have a friendly chat.
