Welcome to Umina Beach Branch of the CWA.

We are pleased that you’re considering joining our happy, cheerful group. You are most welcome to join our group for two meetings before deciding to join Umina Beach CWA.

We meet every Wednesday from 9.30 to 11.30 for friendship and craft.

The second Wednesday of every month is our business meeting that starts at 10 am and usually runs for 90 minutes.

  • Cookery is on the last Saturday of each month and begins at 10 am. to 12pm. Ceilia is our cookery officer. The cookery focuses on baking and some jams and preserves. If you are interested in learning or improving your baking skills, then this is a fantastic opportunity to learn lots of new tips. Plus, again enjoy friendship, laughter, and whatever delicious cake Celia cooks.
  • Demonstrations will be announced on the Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/uminacwa/
  • The first Saturday of the month is a craft morning, and this starts at 10am finishing at around midday. Glenda is our craft officer. If you have a project you would like to work on or learn a new skill in knitting, sewing, craft, crochet then you will love this get together.
  • You will be welcome to attend all these days or just the days and times that suit you.
  • We fund raise and hold functions throughout the year.

Perhaps you may be thinking of joining the CWA.

There are a diverse range of activities for you to be involved in, offering something for everyone:

  • There is an annual study of International, Agriculture and Environmental topics which will offer an opportunity to share your knowledge (and research with our ladies).
  • You may be keen to meet with like-minded members on cultural subjects, such as photography, story writing, painting, and arts and crafts.
  • Our cookery, handicrafts and recycling items have become the staple of our fundraising efforts.

Competitions are also held within the CWA, and are carried out annually to enable you the opportunity to compete and learn, at both Branch and State levels. A number of these competitions are also open to non-members, an opportunity for you family and non-family to join in as well.

Perhaps you are a fabulous organiser, or maybe you have retired yet still feel you have much more to give, with skills to take on an office bearer role and represent our branch as a Delegate,  to attend conferences, and to vote for motions to be presented to parliament, so we can better the community.

And last but not least, to have fun and make lifelong friends.

So come along and say Hi. We have the jug on ready for you.
